Outing to Stoberry Park & Gardens
Although it was raining when we left Dobbies, it soon turned into misty patches of very light rain. Probably the low cloud, as we were high up at Stoberry Park and Gardens, overlooking Wells and the Cathedral and the Tor, wonderful scenery! The owner gave us a brief history of their home, and how the gardens have been planned, and become so beautiful.
We set off for a gentle stroll around the Walled garden and the Rose garden, all kept immaculately tidy, and also a Fernery near the lake.
Then it was time for home made cakes, tea and coffee. We went into the Orangery/Breakfast room for a well earned sit down, and then the sun came out. Giving us all the will to see some more of the garden before heading home.
Many thanks to our drivers, Rita, Jean and Barry!
