James Allen, the first person to breed Snowdrops from the wild, was born in Shepton Mallet. Our Snowdrop Project celebrates his legacy, the history and heritage of our town and the beauty of the snowdrop. The Shepton Mallet Snowdrop Project is run entirely by volunteers who run and support the annual Snowdrop Festival each February and plant snowdrop bulbs each autumn across the town. Come and hear from Amanda Hirst, Festival Programme Coordinator all about the festival and how you can get involved and enjoy the snowdrops.
The 2025 festival runs from 20th to 22nd February.
