The Music Appreciation group meets at 2.00pm on the second Wednesday of each month with the exception of August when we take a summer break.
We choose a different theme each month and listen to a varied range of music tastes. Our choices include composers, different types of composition, instruments, seasonal music and members personal choices.
We have recently listened to a variety of music choices from composers Gabriel Faure, Gustav Holst and Josquin des Prez, Scottish Jigs from Jim MacLeod and his band, Aled Jones singing Silent Night with guitar accompaniment by John Williams and a Trad jazz piece featuring Earl “Fatha” Hines and Louis Armstrong.
