On the 4th August about 30 members of the u3a enjoyed a short history walk, in the sunshine, from the Salvation Army hall to the Marketplace and the Church surroundings. We discovered a very ornate former butcher’s shop, had a glimpse behind a secret door near the Church, and learnt about the families and events that have shaped Shepton Mallet. Alan Stone certainly gave us a lot to remember and stimulated some personal memories from those attending.
